Hi there, thanks so much for visiting the “about” for my site.  First and foremost I am passionate about cooking.  I started cooking when I was seven years old, cookies with my mom.  I love to prepare  good old fashioned tasty food.  I have had the pleasure of working in the food industry in just about every job I have ever had – even though “cook” was definitely not one of the job requirements.  I think about food, I create recipes, hold workshops for kids and adults alike, pour over recipes in every magazine imaginable, hit the local library when time permits and take out very heavy volumes on international flavours and read them as well.  Then I try out a few savoury looking dishes and have friends and family taste my culinary endeavours.  The recipes you encounter on my blog are recipes I have collected for years and years.  Some of the recipes are more than 100 years old.  At present I have over 1000 loose leaf pages of handwritten recipes.  My goal for 2011 is to see all of these recipes on the blog!  Join me in the excitement of trying out old and new recipes.  If you have a recipe you would like to share with me then please do so share.

But most of all, I’m doing this for my three children, Adam, Vanessa and Marc.  They are the sun and stars of my life.
